The Tourism Industry Assocation of PEI (TIAPEI) in partnership with the Prince Edward Island Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning will once again be offering "Passport to Employment through Tourism Programs" in 2 Locations:
Charlottetown: February 14th, 2012 - March 23rd, 2012
North Rustico: February 6th, 2012 - March 16th, 2012
These programs prepare participants for positions in the tourism industry.
The Island wide six-week program was developed to give employment training to individuals aged 55-64 looking to re-enter the workforce. TIAPEI's goal is to provide the tourism operator with accomplished mature workers ready to put their experience, knowledge and skills to work in the tourism labour market

Connecting Canadians over 50 years of age to jobs and volunteer opportunities.
Today, Canadians aged 50- plus want to contribute to their communities during the third quarter of their lives.
ThirdQuarter is a national project that has a solution - it is an online meeting place that matches firms with mature Canadians aged 50+ who want to use their career and life skills to explore new jobs, work flexible hours or volunteer.
Who?
ThirdQuarter is a national pilot project led by hte chambers of commerce in B.C, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Atlantic provinces
What?
ThirdQuarter connects businesses and volunteer organizations with skille Canadians aged 50 - plus who want to work during the third quarter of their lives
When?
ThirdQuarter runs until March 2012
Where?
ThirdQuarter is in 13 Canadian communities with populations under 250,000
Why?
Canadians aged 50 plus have work and life skills, they want to use in flexible ways. Firms can draw on that experience to fill skills shortages
