That takes unique skills and knowledge, so the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council has established emerit - Canada's seal of excellence in Tourism Training.

• Ready to Work

• Personality Dimensions
  
  Personality Dimensions is a personality temperament instrument that will bring insight to the participants and the people or groups they work with. Through color, people will learn about their own personality and will also be able to identify personality characteristics in others.
   
• Red Seal Trades Designation
  
  Red Seal certified workers can work anywhere in Canada where their trade is designated. They have qualified by passing industry developed interprovincial examinations that are based upon nationally validated occupational analyses. Red Seal occupations on PEI directly related to tourism and hospitality include: Baker and Cook.
   

• Apprenticeship
  
  Employers in Prince Edward Island are looking for skilled trades persons and by enrolling in an apprenticeship program you will make yourself more employable.  Apprenticeship allows you to earn money while you learn a skilled trade through affordable hands-on and classroom instruction.  Also, workers who finish apprenticeship generally earn more than those who do not, and have greater opportunities for advancement.   

  Advantages of participating in an official apprenticeship program are: (1) potential employers will know you've demonstrated a specific skill level; (2) employees who have completed an apprenticeship often earn a higher wage than those who have not; and finally, (3) you'll make valuable industry contacts.

  Holland College and the University of Prince Edward Island are great local educational institutions that offer a variety of programs related to tourism.

• SuperHost Atlantic

  SuperHost Atlantic is a seven hour highly interactive customer service training program designed to meet the training needs of various employers. Any business, which interacts with customers, should be involved with the SuperHost Atlantic Program.
