TIAPEI Tourism Scholarship Fund
In the 1980's, TIAPEI and the Province of PEI made the decision to co-sponsor a scholarship program for Island students who were planning a career in the tourism field. Funds from Industry members established this fund and each year applications have been received, reviewed and scholarships awarded. Applicants must be enrolled full time in a recognized college or university tourism/hospitality program, have previous work experience in the tourism industry and have an average of 75% or higher in their last year of school. Scholarships can be renewed for a second year, provided criteria are met by the applicants. Scholarship recipients must attempt to find employment in PEI in the hospitality industry for a period of two years following graduation.
